Bruce first began working at WCPO-TV in Cincinnati, Ohio. Later, he joined WUSA9 in 1976. Since then he has covered numerous trending news.

While serving for the network, he covered the 1982 Washington Metro Train Derailment; that killed three people and injured twenty-five others. He also broadcasted 1977 Hanafi Siege; where twelve gunmen seized three buildings of Washington D.C., kidnapped 142 hostages, killed radio journalist, colleague, and a police officer.

Also in 1988, Bruce traveled Bangkok for “Why Won’t They Come Home?” featuring American Vietnam War Veterans, who chose not to return the US after the war and this helped him to win an Emmy Award.

Bruce is the first son of his parents; he has 7 other siblings in the family. Unfortunately, both his parents are no more alive. His late father was in the military. Bruce lost his mother of pancreatic cancer.

Still, a doctor shows his documentary to the heart patients in order to encourage them to push to live more as the day passes by.
