The garden expert Dimmock worked at Romsey Garden Centre when her talent was discovered by BBC producer John Thornicroft.

Thornicroft was impressed with her extensive gardening knowledge and free-spirited personality while she was filming a section for a Meridian program, Grass Roots.

Thornicroft kept her in mind, and six years later, when he was screen testing for Ground Force, Dimmock got the offer to join the show, and the rest is history.

The garden queen is famous for starring in various garden-related television shows in the UK and the USA. She is particularly well-known for being one of the original members of the popular BBC gardening show Ground Force.

She starred alongside Alan Titchmarsh and Tommy Walsh. The popularity of the garden makeover made each of its stars into household names.

Running from 1997-2005, she went on to host several shows, including Charlie's Garden Army and The Joy Of Gardening.

The horticulture expert is not married yet. But looking up her dating history, she dated viticulturist John Mushet and remained immensely popular throughout the mid-90s.

They worked together at Auckland airport and fell for each other. Within a month, they started living together in Hamilton. But unfortunately, their 13 years long relationship ended in 2001, and they chose to walk their own way.

Although Mushet referred to Dimmock as a 'Missus,' the couple never got married. To this date, neither of them is married to anyone, nor they have any children. As of now, no news regarding their dating life has emerged as well.

Cruel trolls attacked Charlie in 2017 over her different appearances from Ground Force days. She was held as a symbol of beauty during her appearance in BBC's Ground Force from 1997 to 2005.

But, her fans were shocked by her changed appearance after making a television comeback to the BBC show Garden Rescue in 2017. While chatting with the Independent, the green-fingered TV presenter explained-

 "I've always been up and down in my weight. I'll never be slim or skinny, let's put it like that. One season I'll be a size 14, then 18, but it's something I've just accepted now. I'm at that age where I think, life is too short."

Charlie Dimmock was born on 10 August 1996 in Southampton, England. She stands at the height of 1.68m(5 feet 6 inches), and her weight is 75kg. In 2004, Charlie's parents are Terry Dimmock and Sue Dimmock.

In 2004, Dimmock's mother and stepfather died due to a Tsunami caused by the Indian Ocean Earthquake.
