Moving on to her career, Jessica was very active in the sport from a very young age. Since 2003, Jessica’s progression through the junior and youth competitions indicated that she has a bright future in the athletics. Jessica competed at the 2003 World Youth Championships in Canada where Jessica finished in the fifth position. In 2004, she acquired two silver medals in the 100 m hurdles and the high jump, at the 2004 Commonwealth Youth Games in Bendigo, Australia.

Her first major international heptathlon was in 2005 at the European junior championship. In 2006, she received a bronze medal at the Commonwealth Games and retained eighth at the European championships. She maintained the fourth position in The World Champion, held in Japan in 2007 recording the fastest time in the three track events. And in the 2007 ‘ World Combined Events Challenge’ she finished second overall, and later that year, she earned the inaugural ‘European Athletics Rising Award.’

In August 2009, she returned from her leg injury, and Jessica won the first world gold medal at the 2009 World Championship. In October 2011, Jessica was voted as the ‘British Athlete of the Year.

Jessica’s defining time came at the London 2012 Olympics, where she flagged herself into the world’s history books by winning the gold medal in the heptathlon competition. And in 2016, she defended her gold medal in the 2016 ‘Rio Olympics,’ but failed to do so.

However, she won the silver medal, and a few months later, in October 2001, Jessica announced her retirement from the world of athletics. For her contribution to the athletics in the country, she was honored with the ‘Dame Commander of the Order of the British Empire’ in the year 2017.

Married Life Blessed With Beautiful Children

Jessica married her childhood sweetheart, Andy Hill on 18th May 2013. Andy Hill is a construction site manager. They first met while attending the King Ecbert School in Sheffield, and got engaged on Christmas Eve 2010 after dating for over eight years.

The couple tied the knot at St Michael and All Angels church in Hathersage, Derbyshire, near to where they both grew up. An overwhelming crowd of well-wishers gathered outside the church to greet the bride and her husband.

On 17 July 2014, the pair welcomed their first child into the world. On next day, Jessica took to Twitter to announce the birth of her first baby boy Reggie by posting a black and white picture of him.

Moreover, in March 2017, Jessica announced that she and Andy are expecting their second baby through her Instagram stating that someone’s going to be a big brother. And, on 23 September 2017, they welcomed a baby girl named Olivia. Jessica shared the first photo of her baby on Instagram on 25 September 2017 with a caption,
