Kyle’s grandfather, Shigeru Higashioka, worked as an oil company executive in Japan. Shigeru was awarded a Bronze Star in the Army's 442nd Infantry Regiment; the unit was covered with mostly Japanese-American group that fought in Europe during World War II.
The Yankees’ star is married to Alyse Higgy. He and his wife Alyse tied a knot in a romantic ceremony in Hawai on 13 November 2016.
