And one among such personalities is Ingrid Hoffman who followed the footsteps of her chef mother and has now become a well-known restaurateur and television personality.
Career and Progression
Ingrid started doing modeling and acting at the age of twenty appearing in 16 telenovelas. Afterward, in 1985, she moved to Miami, Florida and opened a high fashion luxury boutique’ La Capricieuse’ in Miami’s Coconut Grove.
Afterward, in January 1993, Ingrid opened a restaurant with her mother and two business partners. Ingrid got the inspiration of cooking from her mother who is also a trained chef. The restaurant soon became famous as the first restaurant in Miami with the feature of tabletop cooking on heated lava rocks.
In 2002 as she hosted a cooking segment on a Miami- area television show, she was offered a bi-weekly segment on the Spanish language morning show, ‘ Despierta America.’ In 2005, she launched her own show ‘ Delicioso’ on Direct TV. The show now comes on Galavision. Her another show ‘Simply Delicioso’ also runs on Food Network from July 2007.
Ingrid has also tried her hand in writing; her cookbook, ‘Simply Delicioso: A Collection of Everyday Recipes with a Latin Twist,’ was published on February 8, 2008, by Clarkson Potter.
