Career and Professional Life:

The sports announcer started his career as Riverside Park Speedway announcer while studying at the University of Harvard. He gained loads of experience as he completed 15 years stay in MRN Radio which is a NASCAR’s Radio Network. He joined CBS as the pit reporter in June 1983 with Ken Squier and Ned Jarrett.

He then launched The Nashville Network’s (TNN) NASCAR coverage in 1991. He later joined Fox Sports as the lead announcer for Formula One coverage of Fox Sports Net. The NASCAR announcer received the Henry T McLemore Award in 2011 and was also ranked at first among NASCAR Announcer in March 2014 with a massive approval rating of 93%.

The sports announcer is longtime married to a wife named Gaye Joy. Although he maintains a private life, he is a father to two teenage children, Scott and Kaitlyn.

And if sources are to be believed, his son is professional sports car racer.  Their marriage details haven’t surfaced in the media yet, but it’s no secret that they share a strong bond with each other.

It’s hard enough to lose your loved ones, and when your teenage son dies in an unfortunate car accident, you have everything to moan about. A similar thing happened to Mike’s NASCAR pal Chris Myers when he lost a son, Christopher in February 2012 in a car accident and sports fraternity came out in support of Chris Myers.
