Together, they are parents to their four kids: three sons named Cory Mixon, David Mixon, and Michael Mixon, and a daughter, Kylie Mixon.

Myron was born to his parents: Jack and Gaye, on 30 May 1962 in Vienna, Georgia.

His parents were the first ones to introduce him to famous barbecue sauce recipes.

Myron commenced participating in barbeque competitions since 1996; he first competed in Augusta, Georgia. At the competition, he became first in whole hog and pork ribs, while also holding the third position in pork shoulder. 

Later, Myron participated at the World Championship in Memphis and lifted the title of Grand Champion in 2001. Also, in the same year, he secured first place in the Whole Hog category at the World Championship.

Likewise, he was again placed first in the Whole Hog category at the World Championship in 2003. Plus, he has a record of holding the first position in the same category at the World Championship in 2004 and 2007.
