Nasim Pedrad is an Iranian-American actress, and a comedian appreciated for her roles in the movies Alladin. Starting her career in acting since high school graduation, she voyaged the great navigation in the Hollywood world starring in numerous TV shows and movies.

After graduation, she performed several shows including one-woman show Me, Myself & Iran at the Los Angeles divisions of ImprovOlympic and the Upright Citizens Brigade Theater with the Sunday Company at The Groundlings. The program was selected for the 2007 HBO Comedy Festival. As a lead in the comedic spinoff After School Special, she received an LA Weekly Best Comedic Performance of the Year. Then, she made television her debut on an episode of Gilmore Girls.  She also made a guest appearance on The Winner in 2007 and after two years; she joined the cast of Saturday Night Live in its 35th season.

Likewise, she again had a supporting voice role in Despicable Me 2 in 2013. In early 2015, she was cast in a recurring guest role on the Fox sitcom New Girl as an LAPD officer. After a year, She appeared alongside comedian Kumai Nanjiani and other SNL cast members Cecily Strong and Jay Pharoah in a commercial for Old Navy.

Also, she has appeared in many movies and films like No Strings Attached and The Dictator and voiced characters in The Lorax and Despicable Me 2. Her acting career also trails her credit in several tv shows such as The Meredith Vieira Show, Mulaney, People of Earth, and New Girl.

Recently, she starred in the 2019 movie, Alladin portraying the role of Dalia.

Family, And Siblings

Nasim Pedrad was born in a Muslim family to her parents; Arasteh Amani and Parviz Pedrad, who raised her in Tehran along with her sister Nina Pedrad. Nina is a comedy writer who wrote the episode of New Girl.

Initially, she left Iran and spent a year in Germany with her mom. Later, in 1984, Nasim moved to the United States with her family, when she was only of age three. Her Iranian grandmother passed away in 2018, at the age of 97.
